Interpol

Here are some pics from the Interpol show I saw the other week!  This band was really amazing live!  Although I couldnt get standing tickets for this show I wasn't disappointed :)

The only thing that bothered me was the location of the venue.. It was at the United Palace theatre all the way up on 175th street!!  I was kind of wondering why they would have a show all the way out there... It took me an hour to arrive there from Brooklyn.  But the venue itself was amazing!  It definitely looked like a palace on the inside.  So ornate!  If you love architecture, then this is a place you should go see.

Kaiju Big Battel 2010

So a few couple of weeks ago was the annual 'Royal Flush Festival' hosted by Royal Flush magazine.  It was a week of greats events involving film, art and rock n roll!

One of the most anticipated events for me was 'Kaiju Big Battel' and I was not disappointed!  There is nothing like seeing monsters battling it out in a wrestling ring with homemade miniature buildings to bash over each others heads!

I was happy to see one of my favourite characters, Kung-Fu Chicken Noodle, be the star of the show.  Fighting his way through a number of opponents, to save the Kaiju, he became victorious!  Here are some pictures I took of the evening!

Kung-Fu Chicken Noodle reigning victorious!

A scab even came on stage! Gross!!

Blood/Nectar Exhibit By Jason Limon

I was pretty excited to go see this exhibit when I first heard about it.. and rightly so!!  The new artwork from Jason Limon is absolutely beautiful.

His use of combining plant-life with other planet life-forms can only be described as dreamlike, organic, alienesque and surreal.  What also gives this exhibit an extra quality is his use of beautiful, ornate, vintage looking frames, as if the painting was made for that frame.  This is definitely a must see exhibit!!

Shepard Fairey

While searching through some files the other day, I came across these photos that I had forgotten about.  I actually took these around the beginning of the summer.

These murals are the works of Shepard Fairey who is also well known for the 'Andre the Giant has a Posse' (OBEY) sticker campaign.  These were part of a gallery exhibit that he was holding here in NY, of which I unfortunately missed :( but at least I got to see these before they got covered up!!

I love how there was artwork inside the artwork!
